What are some volunteer possibilities at PFLAG Payson?

Chapter President (Richard)
Preside at chapter support meetings and business meetings.  Develop chapter budget with treasurer.  Serve as official chapter representative.  Sign official documents.  Other duties as they come up!

Chapter Secretary (Larry)
Record meeting minutes of all PFLAG Payson business meetings and distribute (via email) to the chapter board members.  Pick up chapter postal mail and distribute to appropriate chapter volunteers.

Chapter Treasurer (Marty)
Maintain chapter financial records, including check-writing.  Manage all financial matters for the chapter.  Provide periodic financial status reports to chapter Board and PFLAG "National."

Helpline Coordinator
Set up chapter's helpline including selecting best phone service for chapter needs (e.g., low cost, voicemail, call-forwarding).  Compile a resource directory of referral organizations and/or supportive members/volunteers that can assist callers.  Check chapter voicemail daily and return calls (or coordinate among other helpline volunteers).

Hospitality Coordinator  -- Mary
Coordinate volunteers to greet support meeting attendees, provide refreshments, set up meeting room(s), etc.

Librarian--Carol
Manage "lending library" of books including developing system to ensure that items borrowed are later returned.  Manage inventory and display of PFLAG-related literature.

Membership Coordinator -- Jo
Welcome new attendees with a follow-up phone call or note.  Collect member dues (from new members and renewing members).  Keep and update chapter membership records and send periodic adds/changes/deletes to PFLAG "National."

Program Coordinator---Ray
Coordinate guest speakers/programs for monthly support meetings.

Public Relations Coordinator -- David
Develop contact list for local media (including all Rim communities).  Draft press releases on chapter activities.  Contact media representatives to pitch story ideas on PFLAG members and/or volunteers.
